From Workshop to Red Carpet: How Diljit Dosanjh Wore VFJ to the Met Gala
We've always believed that jewelry carries more than beauty - it carries memory, legacy and meaning. At Vishva Fine Jewelry, every piece begins as a story: crafted by hand, rooted in heritage and designed to last generations.
But some stories take on a life of their own.
On the first Monday of May, a VFJ polki diamond necklace made it ways to the Met Gala, worn by Diljit Dosanjh for his debut on fashion's most iconic red carpet. Draped across his dastar like a crown, the piece shimmered with quiet strength - an unspoken ode to culture, craft and pride.

What made the moment even more surreal was the way it all came together.
With just days to go, I learned that his stylist, Abhilasha, was headed to New York, and on instinct, I reached out. A few messages later, I booked a flight - a pouch full of jewels in hand, no fittings confirmed, no promises made. I landed in NYC Sunday morning unsure of what would happen, but certain I had to show up.
We met that afternoon, she was kind and thoughtful, but felt the necklace might not work. I left our meeting grateful for the opportunity, but felt that quiet sting that creatives know too well - of coming so close. Hours later, a message: "Heyyy, I think I should have the brooches and necklace for safety tomorrow. If you can deliver it to the plaza at 12 tomorrow.". And so, the jewels were handed over at The Plaza Hotel the next afternoon.

The rest was out of my hands.
That evening, I waited like everyone else to see the unveiling of his look. And then, posted by DietSabya, Diljit's first look was revealed - regal and grounded, wearing our polki diamond necklace on his turban like it was made for that moment. It was humbling, electrifying and unforgettable.

This wasn't just a fashion milestone, it was deeply personal. To see a piece we made - designed in our workshop, touched by the skilled hands of artisans, rooted in Indian tradition - on the world's grandest stage, worn by someone who represents our community with such grace and price...it meant everything.

We weren't in the spotlight, but our work was there - quiet, certain and strong. For us, thats the kind of legacy we've always dreamed of.
